A moderately strong 4.2 earthquake was felt in Sarangani, Davao Occidental tonight at 8:02 p.m., the Phivolcs earthquake bulletin shows.
The tremor occurred 181 kilometers deep from northeast to 15 kilometers southwest of Balut Island, a municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental. Phivolcs issued no expected aftershocks and damage.
Previously, in the early morning of Jan. 9, 2024, a 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit the same municipality. On Jan. 16, 2024, again in the same municipality, a moderately strong 4.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded.
