Proclamation 461 declares February 13 a special non-working day in the City of Parañaque.
February 13, 2024, marks the 26th cityhood anniversary of the City of Parañaque. President Bongbong Marcos, through Proclamation 461, declared Tuesday, February 13, 2024, a special non-working day.

Meanwhile, in celebration of its cityhood anniversary, the City of Parañaque under the leadership of Mayor Eric L. Olivarez will be having a series of programs and activities from pageantry extravaganza to showcase Ginoo at Binibining Parañaque 2024 to cultural festivals to honoring excellence in recognition to exceptional Parañaqueños.
Parañaque City is a home of some spectacular tourist sites and attractions:
- City of Dreams Manila
- Solaire Resort and Casino
- Okada Manila
- Cathedral Parish of St. Andrew
- National Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Baclaran Church)
- Dampa
- Bird Sanctuary
Parañaque City got its name from “Palanyag” a term taken from the word palayag which means “point of navigation.” A story told that at the mouth of a part of a land area called the City of Parañaque today, there was once a balete tree that when gazed at a distance the area looked like a ship. That is one of more other stories about how the city got its name, Parañaque. The city is first class highly urbanized.
