President Marcos, Jr. approved the 9th of February 2024, as an “additional” special non-working day throughout the country, the Proclamation 453 stated, which was signed on January 18, 2024.
It will give chance to celebrate the Chinese New Year 2024, which falls on Saturday, February 10, 2024, taking advantage of a “longer weekend,” the Proclamation 453 stated further.
Meanwhile, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is directed to issue a circular for the guidelines of the implementation in the private sectors.
Previously, on Dec. 12, 2023, a guideline on pay rules was issued through Labor Advisory 27 for compliance of employers and workers on the proper payment of wages.
