A magnitude 5.8 earthquake hits Abra De Ilog, Occidental Mindoro at 9:09 a.m. today, posted on the earthquake bulletin of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). No damage is expected but Phivolcs warned of aftershocks.
The earthquake has a tectonic origin with a depth of 110 km northeast of Abra De Ilog.
Intensity 5 has been reported in Lubang, Occidental Mindoro; Calamba City; Calatagan, and Calaca, Batangas. While Malvar, Lemery of Batangas; Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro; Mendez, Cavite; Limay, Bataan; Tagaytay City; and Manila City felt the reported intensity 4.
Meanwhile, an intensity 3 has also been reported in Agoncillo, Cuenca, Lipa City and Talisay, Batangas; General Trias City and Dasmarinas, Cavite; Makati City, Muntinlupa City, Mandaluyong, Pasay City, Pasig City and Quezon City of Metro Manila; and San Pedro, Laguna.
An intensity 2 has been reported in Caloocan City and Marikina City, the rest of Metro Manila; Olongapo City, Zambales; Cavite City; Sta. Cruz, Laguna; Taysan, Batangas; Batangas City; Lucena City; Binangonan, Rizal; Dolores and Mulanay, Quezon; while an intensity 1 is felt in San Mateo, Rizal and San Francisco, Quezon. RQJ
