Super typhoon Odette, international name Rai, has maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near the center and wind gusts of up to 205 kph as of PAGASA 8 a.m. bulletin. Later on, Odette intensifies to 230 kph moving west-northwest at 25 kph in speed.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that over 10,000 villages are within the projected path of the super typhoon Odette.
Meanwhile, Reliefweb.net, estimated that 16 million population in 6 regions are at risk from typhoon Odette and at least 3.8 million population are living below the poverty line.
