Phivolcs records a strong earthquake in Batangas

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has recorded a magnitude 6.3 earthquake in Batangas province this morning at 10:19, Thursday, June 15, 2023, the Phivolcs bulletin posted.

The recorded 6.3 magnitude earthquake, Phivolcs said, was 108 kilometers deep, west of Calatagan, Batangas, with a tectonic origin.

Phivolcs also reported strong intensity in Metro Manila and several nearby provinces.

A recorded Intensity V was raised in Calatagan, Batangas; Looc, Lubang, and Paluan, Occidental Mindoro. Furthermore, an Intensity IV was raised in the cities of Las Piñas, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Manila, and Quezon City.

Moreover, the same strong intensity was felt in Pasay City, San Juan City, Valenzuela City, Abucay, city of Balanga and Orani in Bataan, city of Malolos, Plaridel in Bulacan, Cabangan, Castillejos, Iba, Palauig, San Antonio, San Narciso, and Subic in Zambales.

Also, the Intensity IV is recorded in Alitagtag, Balayan, Batangas City, Bauan, City of Calaca, Ibaan, Lemery, Lian, Mabini, Nasugbu, Padre Garcia, Rosario, San Nicolas, San Pascual, Santa Teresita, Taal, Talisay, City of Tanauan, Tingloy, and Tuy in Batangas, Alfonso, Amadeo, Carmona, City of Cavite, City of Dasmariñas, General Emilio Aguinaldo, General Mariano Alvarez, City of General Trias, Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez-Nuñez, Silang, City of Tagaytay, Ternate, and City of Trece Martires in Cavite, City of Antipolo, and Tanay in Rizal, Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro, Baco, City of Calapan, Puerto Galera, and San Teodoro in Oriental Mindoro.

Meanwhile, the Intensity III was recorded in the cities of Makati, Marikina, Parañaque, Pasig, Pateros, and the City of Taguig.

Also, the same intensity was raised in Labrador, Lingayen, Mangaldan, Mangatarem, and City of San Carlos in Pangasinan, the City of Dagupan, Bagac, Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Limay, Mariveles, Orion, Pilar, and Samal in Bataan, Angat, Baliuag, Bulakan, Bustos, Calumpit, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Guiguinto, Hagonoy, the City of Meycauayan, Norzagaray, Obando, Pandi, Paombong, Pulilan, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, and San Rafael in Bulacan, the City of Cabanatuan, Cabiao, the City of Gapan, Jaen, San Antonio, and San Isidro in Nueva Ecija, San Simon and Santa Ana in Pampanga.

The same intensity was recorded in Botolan, Candelaria, Masinloc, San Marcelino, and Santa Cruz in Zambales, Agoncillo, Balete, Cuenca, Laurel, the City of Lipa, Lobo, Malvar, Mataasnakahoy, San Jose, San Juan, San Luis, the City of Sto. Tomas, and Taysan in Batangas, the City of Bacoor, the City of Imus, Kawit, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, and Tanza in Cavite, the City of Cabuyao, Famy, the City of San Pablo, and City of San Pedro in Laguna, Buenavista, Calauag, Guinayangan, Gumaca, Infanta, Lopez, Mauban, Polillo, and Tagkawayan in Quezon, San Mateo and Teresa in Rizal, Abra De Ilog, Calintaan, Rizal, Sablayan, and San Jose and Santa Cruz in Occidental Mindoro, Bansud, Gloria, and Naujan in Oriental Mindoro.
